Struct webpki::subject_name::dns_name::DnsName

source ·
pub struct DnsName(String);
Expand description

A DNS Name suitable for use in the TLS Server Name Indication (SNI) extension and/or for use as the reference hostname for which to verify a certificate.

A DnsName is guaranteed to be syntactically valid. The validity rules are specified in RFC 5280 Section 7.2, except that underscores are also allowed. DnsNames do not include wildcard labels.

DnsName stores a copy of the input it was constructed from in a String and so it is only available when the alloc default feature is enabled.

Requires the alloc feature.

Tuple Fields§

§0: String

Implementations§

source§

impl DnsName

source

pub fn as_ref(&self) -> DnsNameRef<'_>

Returns a DnsNameRef that refers to this DnsName.

Trait Implementations§

source§

impl AsRef<str> for DnsName

source§

fn as_ref(&self) -> &str

Converts this type into a shared reference of the (usually inferred) input type.
source§

impl Hash for DnsName

source§

fn hash<__H: Hasher>(&self, state: &mut __H)

fn hash_slice<H>(data: &[Self], state: &mut H)
where H: Hasher, Self: Sized,

Feeds a slice of this type into the given Hasher. Read more
source§

impl PartialEq for DnsName

source§

fn eq(&self, other: &DnsName) -> bool

Tests for self and other values to be equal, and is used by ==.
1.0.0 · source§

fn ne(&self, other: &Rhs) -> bool

Tests for !=. The default implementation is almost always sufficient, and should not be overridden without very good reason.
