EngineChoice

Enum EngineChoice

Source
enum EngineChoice<'a> {
    TrueType,
    PostScript(&'a CffFontRef<'a>),
    Auto,
    None,
}
Expand description

The engine chosen to hint a font.

Variants§

§

TrueType

The TrueType interpreter.

§

PostScript(&'a CffFontRef<'a>)

The PostScript hinter for these charstrings.

§

Auto

The automatic hinter.

§

None

No engine. Type 1 fonts and fonts without outlines are not hinted.

Implementations§

Source§

impl<'a> EngineChoice<'a>

Source

fn new( font: &'a Font, outlines: &OutlineGlyphs<'a>, hinting: &HintOptions, ) -> Self

Chooses the engine that hinting requests for outlines, the outlines of font that the scaler draws.

Requesting the interpreter runs the font’s own instructions, whichever kind it contains. Requesting the FreeType fallback runs the TrueType interpreter only when the font’s programs are worth running, and always runs a PostScript font’s own hints. A TrueType font that needs its instructions for correct contours always runs them.
